Today Saturday January 28, 2023, there is a new episode of 48 Hours.

The Death of an Officer’s Wife Amanda Perrault was reported dead by her husband, Eatonton, Georgia police officer Seth Perrault, just days after she filed domestic violence charges against him. As soon as the police heard Perrault’s version of events, they began to doubt him. The sheriff obtained a warrant for Perrault’s arrest and subsequently arrested him.

The sheriff’s decision was influenced in part by the crime scene, which included the location of her body in the couple’s bed and allegations of abuse. However, after the medical examiner issued the autopsy report concluding Amanda’s death was a suicide, Perrault’s attorney claimed it proved his client’s innocence. But do jurors think so? Anne-Marie Green, a contributor to 48 HOURS, details the events leading up to the day Perrault said his wife had died.

“I believe Seth Perrault was an individual that had a lot of people fooled,” District Attorney Wright Barksdale said. “I think he hid behind a badge and wore a mask every day. Nice house, nice car, law enforcement. But behind that door to that house, he was pretty abusive.”
