Animal Park airs a new episode tonight Friday 7 April 2023 on BBC One.

Episode 10 Anne, a rescued elephant who had lived most of her life in a circus, has now been at her new home for ten years. Kate and Ben learn from the elephant’s caretakers how they maintain the health of one of Europe’s oldest elephants. The staff has a well-honed schedule, and they take care of her through every meal, every shower, and every activity. Kate gives Anne a special snack, and Jean Johansson learns how her caretakers maintain her toned trunk.

A massive construction project is currently ongoing in Lion Country in an effort to deter the lions from using the trees near the fence as a climbing platform. This new playground equipment will provide these top predators with areas to climb and shelter on wet days. It must be extremely sturdy, constructed of enormous logs and wooden supports; the only question is whether or not it will be able to support the entire pride. Ben goes along with the caretakers to watch the lions investigate their new enclosure for the first time.

Jean Johansson helps feed the koalas and wildlife camera operator Hamza Yassin eats with the lions, both of whom exhibit some unusual behaviour.
