Animal Park: Episode 10 (S19EP10 BBC One Friday 19 August 2022)
Last year, there was shock when an unexpected family moved into the park and made a home. Along with two hippos, a dozen sea lions, a few large boats, and a lodge, beavers began construction on Half-Mile Lake. Even more astounding is the fact that this region last saw beavers before Longleat House was finished in 1580. But do they still live there? The keepers have been using camera traps to record throughout the year, and there are good indications that the beavers have settled, but when they browse through the lakeside CCTV, they find something extraordinary and wholly unanticipated.
Also, the tension between a female tiger and her daughter is approaching boiling point. Normally solitary animals in the wild, the tigers are showing signs of territorial strife in the park’s drive-through. Will the keepers be able to stop these arguments escalating into a potentially lethal conflict?
Ben is in the East Africa reserve to encourage the ostriches to run as fast as they might in the wild, while Megan sets a taste test for the hyenas. Kate discovers how the wolf pack and their keepers are doing since Eliska died, and plants a tree in her memory.
