Animal Park airs a new episode tonight Monday 10 April 2023 on BBC One.

Episode 11 Kate Humble and Ben Fogle have returned to Longleat Safari Park with up-to-date information on the amazing exotic animals that live there.

Here’s the latest information on Willow, the baby aardvark. Since her unplanned arrival last year, she has been hand-reared, but today she may go home to her family. She has never known a world outside of the keepers’ care, thus the reaction of her family is unknown. Is she going to be greeted with open arms, or will she be viewed as a potential threat? The keepers install CCTV cameras to maintain watch over the enclosure, but another issue soon arises to disrupt the peace.

The secretary birds of the park, Kevin and Janine, have been a breeding pair for four years. The lack of chicks is especially concerning given that this breed was just placed to a global list of endangered species. This year, however, there is some encouraging news: caretakers have discovered eggs in the nest.

The keepers are continuously coming up with new and interesting ways to keep the animals busy and stimulate their natural habits. In an effort to keep the camels focused today, Ben has introduced them to the lovely game. Jean Johansson attends the park’s new species release and hears an update on the newborn pygmy goats.
