Motown Master: Lamont Dozier at the BBC In honour of the late songwriter Lamont Dozier (who passed away in 2022), the BBC is airing a retrospective show containing a wealth of live performances spanning his entire career.
You Keep Me Hanging On, Baby Love, This Old Heart of Mine, and Reach Out I’ll Be There were all written by Lamont as part of the famed Holland-Dozier-Holland group who helped develop the Motown sound that spread all over the world in the ’60s.
Artists he helped become household names, such as Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Four Tops, and Martha and the Vandellas, perform Dozier’s greatest hits here, alongside modern performers who continue to keep his music fresh and relevant, such as Phil Collins, Kylie Minogue, Rod Stewart, and Rag’n’Bone Man.
