Autopsy: The Last Hours Of…: Robert Reed airs Tonight on REELZ

Robert Reed shot to fame as America’s favorite dad on “The Brady Bunch” for his portrayal of Mike Brady. Robert’s career spanned three and a half decades, and he appeared in more than a hundred movies and TV shows. Robert tried his hand at farming while growing up in Oklahoma, but ultimately decided that acting was his calling. Robert’s first big break came on ‘The Defenders,’ a legal drama series, after he studied classical acting (he particularly loved Shakespeare).

Reed signed a development deal with the legendary studio, Paramount Pictures, after the series won 14 Emmys over its four-year run on television. When they offered Robert the father role in the pilot episode of a new sitcom called “The Brady Bunch,” he initially politely declined. However, it was his performance as Mike Brady that made him a household name. Robert Reed was one of the most famous actors of his time, and he eventually became a household name.

Robert maintained a busy acting career alongside the numerous Brady sitcom spin-offs, with three of his roles earning him Emmy nominations. Robert adopted The Brady family as his own after experiencing difficulties within his own family and grew very close to them over the years. However, Robert was not as happy as he appeared on screen and had struggled with maintaining a double life for quite some time.

Robert’s sudden death at age 59 shocked his friends and family, and at first it was thought that he had died of colon cancer. However, subsequent shocking press revelations painted a different picture. Robert’s outward demeanor hid a wealth of hidden information.
