Becoming Frida Kahlo “Love and Loss” (BBC Two Friday 17 March 2023)

Becoming Frida Kahlo airs a new episode tonight Friday 17 March 2023 on BBC Two.

“Love and Loss” Diego receives a major mural commission in San Francisco, so he and Frida head there to work on it. Frida’s unique style is a major talking point, and although being involved in Diego’s business, she is eager to find success on her own terms.

She tries to conceal her contempt for New York’s upper class after witnessing the city’s extreme wealth gap firsthand during the Great Depression. Her mother’s illness and her own miscarriage inspired some of her most raw and heartbreaking writing.
