Episode 5 Esther’s midwife, Naomi, wants to avoid giving her a general anaesthetic, but she’s worried about her platelet count.
Abed is anxious that he will miss the birth of his second child just like he did the birth of their first in Kenya. Kelly and Steven are here to undergo an induction to begin her labour. Before, they had lost a baby to an ectopic pregnancy and were afraid she wouldn’t be able to have children again.
Kelly’s labour is going slowly and painfully so they opt to do a C-section. After a hectic shift, Fiona’s pace quickens when Laura and her husband Mark enter the delivery room. Fiona expects another speedy delivery, given Laura’s last child was born suddenly.
