Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild Uruguay – Rhona Mitra (Channel 5 Tuesday 24 January 2023)

David Jason: All The Best Bits & More

Today Tuesday 24 January 2023, there is a new episode of Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild.

Uruguay – Rhona Mitra See Ben Fogle travel to Uruguay to meet Rhona, a British-born actress who has escaped the Hollywood spotlight for a quiet life in a rural valley.

Ben is immediately captivated by the stark contrast in lifestyles and discovers that his host’s new existence is the result of illness, a terrible childhood, and disillusionment with Tinseltown culture. While visiting an animal auction, he learns that Rhona is now dedicated to rescuing horses, so the two of them go in search of any abandoned animals they can take in.

Rhona admits that she has had to adjust to the machismo culture of rural Uruguay or vice versa. Rhona has also come dangerously close to being hurt when exploring her property. Ben understands that Rhona has no one to turn to for support in the event of a crisis because of her preference to keep to herself.

That night, he sees the wrath of nature firsthand as a tremendous storm batters the fragile biodome he is sheltering in. In spite of the challenges, his fellow brit still claims this is the best role she’s ever had.
