Today Saturday 25 March 2023, there is a new episode of Big Night of Musicals by the National Lottery.
2023 Featuring fantastic performances from the casts of 13 of the UK’s most beloved West End and touring musicals, as well as a few surprises along the way, Jason Manford hosts another magnificent celebration of musical theatre recorded at Manchester’s AO Arena.
Michael Ball plays a classic number from Aspects of Love, Helen George from Call the Midwife appears in The King and I, and the entire cast of Hamilton takes the stage in an exclusive television performance.
The casts of Matilda (performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company), We Will Rock You (performed by Disney), Newsies (performed by the casts of Newsies, Six, Ain’t Too Proud, Shrek, and Mamma Mia!
Les Misérables, The Bodyguard, and Wicked all give outstanding performances to round out the schedule.
In addition, Jason invites a few young theatre enthusiasts to join him onstage for a once-in-a-lifetime performance. Additionally, there is an inside look at the making of Heathers: The Musical and a star-studded tribute to the work of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
