In Gambit Blake and Co are heading to Freedom City in search of a man called Docholli. He knows the exact location of Star One. Servalan is also on Freedom City trying to find Docherly before Blake. She contacts Krantor, who basically runs things on Freedom City, and offers him 8 million credits for not just Docholli but also Travis (who is acting as a bodyguard to Docholli).
Avon and Vila have their own reasons for wanting to visit Freedom City. They intend to use Orac to break the bank at The Big Wheel casino.
The whole nightclub speed chess thing is just a little bit off it has to be said. There is a Regency period meets 1920’s Chiacgo vibe about the costumes but with a slight off kilter touch, although Servalan’s outfit is typically mesmerising of course.
