Bloodlands Series Two | Trailer - BBC

The second season of Bloodlands, starring James Nesbitt and set in Northern Ireland, will debut on SBS next week.

After the assassination of a wealthy accountant, DCI Tom Brannick (James Nesbitt) and his police partner Niamh McGovern (Charlene McKenna) set out to unravel a murder conspiracy that they quickly discover is tied to lost gold worth millions of dollars. Tom’s seen gold before, and it’s good…

Tom, in his role as Goliath, in 1998 seized eight bars of gold that had been concealed behind a shipment of guns destined for the IRA. He kept the reward money for himself and used the intimidating notoriety of his alias to recruit a frightened Colin Foyle as his accountant. When Tom sees Colin’s dead, he knows he has to get to his gold before anybody else, much less his fellow cops.

DCI Tom Brannick and his colleague DS Niamh McGovern respond to a gunshot on the beaches of Strangford Lough in the first episode. Tom recognises the dead guy as an accountant from his difficult past, and his inquiry into the dead man’s widow, Olivia Foyle, draws him deeper into a web of intrigue that is inexorably linked to his past wrongdoings.

Airdate: Wednesday 1 February 2023 at 9.30pm on SBS.
