What is this episode about

The disappearance and murder of Melanie Hall, one of Britain’s most shocking unsolved mysteries, are examined.

Melanie, then 25 years old, was out with her boyfriend for the night on June 8, 1996, when tragedy struck. But their night quickly descended into a nightmare. At 1:10 a.m., Melanie was last seen sitting on a bar stool near the dance floor. She disappeared without a trace.

It took another 13 years for her body to be found, on the off-ramp of a major motorway of all places.

The police announced new evidence in October 2019; a partial DNA profile was obtained from the rope wrapped around the bag containing Melanie’s remains. Her murderer has not been apprehended as of yet.

This documentary will reexamine the case and explore the various theories surrounding her death through interviews with her family and the police leading the investigation, archive, and reconstruction.
