Brothers, The: The Knock at the Door (BBC1 5 Dec 1976, Peter Blake)

In The Knock on the Door Bill goes undercover in Amsterdam to try and find out if there are any Hammond drivers involved in extra curricular activities, meanwhile Mary Hammond calls a family meeting to discuss the new share issue which she sees as just another dilution of the brand name and company that her husband built up from scratch.

Meanwhile Paul Merroney is finding that April is very determined to go to Barbados for Christmas, with him or without him and Barbara is having fun being taken under the wing of older half brother David. Brian and Jane are also taking small steps forward once more in their relationship. The episode ends with the police turning up at Gwen Riley’s house to inform her that her son Ronald has been involved in an accident.
