Scientist Dr. Mortimer has been told he has AIDS. The hospital administrator Tennant tried to persuade him to take time off after learning about the leak of his diagnosis, but he declined. DeVries, who thinks Sister Pereira’s child is his, draws blood from the kid. The cancer has spread to Alf Grocott’s liver, so he is readmitted to the hospital. On Christmas day, he passes away. The good doctor and Caroline begin an affair. Kirkby’s chemo diagram is off. He goes to Dr. Turner for guidance but is told to keep going even though he is confused. An adverse reaction causes the patient’s death.
