In comedy drama The Flight Fund a married couple, Angie and Tony, visit the husband’s Uncle Edward in his large mansion, called Farnley. Angie soon falls for Uncle Edward and the pair run off together. The title related to a literary prize won by Tony’s son Farnley.
Writer of this play Penelope Gilliatt, was the wife of playwright John Osborne for several years (1963-1968) and she was a novelist as well as being one of the chief film critics for New York magazine during the 1960’s and 1970’s. The Flight Fund was her last script writing credit.
