What is this episode about
This intimate documentary follows naturalist Chris Packham as he questions whether or not it is moral to break the law in order to challenge official climate change policies. One of the activists he meets argues that mass civil disobedience is required to force policy change, and he tries to convince Chris to join them so that he, too, can serve time in prison to serve as an example to others.
And he meets environmental extremist Andreas Malm, who thinks it’s time for people to take more extreme, violent action against property, like setting off bombs in oil pipelines. Chris arrives at his own conclusion regarding the measures he believes to be appropriate in light of the climate crisis.
