Christmas at Dingley Dell (ITV 1960, James Donald, John Salew)

A Dickensian twist with a Pickwick Papers story, Christmas at Dingley sees members of the Pickwick Club being paid a visit by Mr Jingle who is on route to spend Christmas with the Wardles at Dingley Dell.

Like most Christmas production this was actually filmed, at Elstree Studios, much earlier in the year.

This production was one of a number of Dickens adaptations produced by Harry Alan Towers in association with the Dickensian Society and under the overall umbrella title of Tales From Dickens. Fredric March introduced some of them.
