Comedy Four: Fit For Heroes (ITV Thurs 13 Jun 1963, Kenneth Connor, Derrick Guyler)

In the second Comedy Four entry Fit For Heroes, Major Hepplewhite and Corporal Rust have an issue with the ministry of pensions and decide to do something about it.

The strong cast is led by Derrick Guyler and Kenneth Connor. Guyler’s career had started in the 1940’s and by the time of this production was already playing PC Wilfred “Corky” Turnbull in Sykes and A…. That role and his role as school caretaker Norman Potter in Please Sir are his best remembered role. Connor was also riding high at this stage in his career. He was one of the guiding lights of the Carry On team.
