From the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, four of the best sheepdog handlers in the UK compete for the 2023 One Man and His Dog title. Our competing teams have nowhere to hide from the watchful eye of judge Jane Drinkwater on the difficult course at Goodwood.
Can England’s Carol Mellin and her dog Pentrabet or Wales’s Rob Ellis and his dog Todd be beaten by the youngest competitor, Scotland’s 21-year-old Shannon Conn and her dog Yellow Hill Chip?
Everything is on the line right now. We also meet Cydros Boss, Jack Howells’ dog, and his owner, 16-year-old Welshman Jack Howells. Jack caught the trialling bug three years ago, spurred on by his father, and he shows why he will be a future star in a showcase round.
