Cunk on Earth airs a new episode tonight Tuesday January 31 2023 on Netflix.
“Series Premiere” In this comedy series presented as if a real documentary and created by Charlie Brooker, the irrepressible Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) takes us on a journey from almost nothing to the present day, detailing the history of such groundbreaking innovations as the wheel, masterpieces of art like the Mona Lisa, and revolutionary ideas such as enlightenment and nuclear power.
Somewhere along the road, Philomena will be standing next to some impressive old ruins or inside a museum, asking specialists probing questions about the development of humanity, before the camera cuts away to some archive of the pieces that no longer exist.
The series will look at the people and the ideas that have enhanced the globe as a whole. Time periods covered range from prehistory to the present day, with the unnamed future age thrown in for good measure.
Philomena Cunk is here to show how far humanity has come — or not — in this witty mockumentary tracing the history of civilization.
