Dr. Phil: 25/04/22 (CBS Mon April 25, 2022)
The United States is the ninth most obese nation in the world, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and 16 states have obesity rates of 35 percent or greater. Obesity has been linked to a variety of mental illnesses, including sadness and anxiety, in addition to physical changes, according to research.
Dr. Phil takes a deeper look at the psychology of obesity in this episode of his show. First, Dr. Phil meets a lady who used to weigh 700 pounds but is now an advocate for living a healthy lifestyle after overcoming her weight loss. In addition, a well-known scholar provides some startling figures. Followed by an interview with a lady who describes herself as “body positive and proud,” and who encourages others to accept their natural curves.
Then Dr. Phil meets a lady who used to work as a mental health counsellor but who claims she has gained more weight than she ever dreamed as a result of her job. In addition, television celebrity Brooke Burke addresses her health and fitness app, Brooke Burke Body, as well as her own personal experience with obesity and its consequences. Check out the show to find out what surprise she has in store for one of her guests!
