The Set-Up: Arthur Payne, who has just been released from prison, meets a stranger, Theo Gaunt, on a train and explains his situation. A few days later, another stranger makes an intriguing offer. Arthur should stage a robbery and steal some counterfeit jewellery from the stranger’s safe.
