Emmerdale is a British soap opera set in the Yorkshire Dales that follows the lives of several families and locals who live in and around an estate, a farm, and a nearby village. It is the second-longest running British soap opera, having premiered on ITV in 1972 as ‘Emmerdale Farm’ before being renamed in 1989.
