Eurovision Song Contest: Eurovision Welcomes the World airs Monday 8 May 2023 on BBC One

Come celebrate the beginning of Eurovision week with Rylan and Liverpool’s very own Sunetra Sarker. Rylan and Sunetra will recap this year’s Eurovision, featuring 37 acts, and there will be highlights from the turquoise carpet. Backstage at Eurovision, Rylan watches as semi-final hosts Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham, and Julia Sanina get ready for their presenting debut.

The show also includes coverage of the Big Eurovision welcome event outside St. George’s Hall in Liverpool, hosted by AJ Odudu and Joel Dommett. Frankie Goes to Hollywood, a legendary Liverpool band, will perform live together for the first time in over 30 years.

Conchita will perform Rise Like a Phoenix with a dramatic drone display, and Ukrainian Eurovision winner Jamala will perform a duet with British artist Birdy on a Beatles classic.

To close the show, international pop star Zara Larsson joins dance music legends Cream Classical, and special guests Ricky Tomlinson and Shirley Ballas pay tribute to their hometown.
