Family Cooking Showdown: Season 2 Episode 1 (BBC Two Saturday 13 May 2023)
Family Cooking Showdown: Season 2 Episode 1 airs Saturday 13 May 2023 on BBC Two.
Season two of the competitive cooking show that honours the families behind the most delicious culinary creations. For three weeks, sixteen family teams compete head-to-head in a studio kitchen. Contestants are judged by Angellica Bell, a previous winner of Celebrity MasterChef and author of a cookbook, and Tommy Banks, the youngest chef to ever receive a Michelin star in Britain. In each episode, the teams are challenged with two tasks: one they know in advance and can prepare for, and one they have no idea how to complete.
Tonight, the Abimbola-Youngces of London, the Stones of Dorset, and the Penmans of Lincolnshire will take on the Whites of Hampshire. The four families enter the showdown kitchen without a clue as to what they will be cooking for the first challenge: a brunch for four people costing £10 using a random assortment of ingredients. The second test is to make a pasta bake according to their family’s recipe. Judges Angellica Bell and Tommy Banks consider both dishes when deciding which three families will advance to the next round.
