Follyfoot: The Awakening (ITV 20 Aug 1972, with Anthony Andrews)

In The Awakening Dora and Steve have been invited for tea at The Colonels. Lady Caroline Beck and her son Lord Beck have a horse they may want to keep at Follyfoot, however when Dora and Steve get to the Colonels they find he has been taken ill.

Lord Beck fancies himself as something of a champion show jumper so Steve makes a bet with that Dora will trounce him in the next competition. The Colonel also thinks Dora needs to win to take the arrogant Lord Beck down a peg or two.

During the final jump off, just when it looks Dora might win, the Colonel collapses. He’s seriously ill and confined to bed, so much so that Dora’s parents have to fly home.

Anthony Andrews is a frightful toff as Lord Beck, don’t you know, with a somewhat terrible looking fake moustache.

With just one episode in the season left after this things are building up to a crescendo.
