Follyfoot: Family of Strangers (ITV 11 Jun 1972, with Valerie Holliman)
In Family of Strangers Dora receives a strange letter that puts her in a reflective mood. An old school friend of hers, Cleo, wants to stay for a few days. Cleo does not seem too impressed to see all the horses at Follyfoot, something which Dora is surprised at because Cleo was horse crazy at school.
When Cleo reacts very badly to being in close contact with one of the horses, Dora and Steve try to get to the bottom of the mystery – it seems her sisters horse Galahad had almost killed her sister and Cleo is clearly still suffering shock.
Steve thinks if Cleo gets involved in training a difficult horse it could solve her problems. Ron has a different idea, faking an incident with horse Copper which seems like a good plan until Steve gets caught in a poacher’s trap. Valerie Holloman who guest stars here as teenager Cleo would pop up a couple of months later in Villains episode Knocker as a very self assured former girlfriend of Bob Hoskins, looking very different and much older.
