In Moonstone Callie sees a horse being mistreated on a visit to the circus, she tries to persuade the Colonel to buy it but when he won’t have anything to do with it Callie decides to steal the horse instead.
Callie takes the horse to Follyfoot Farm much to Steve’s anger but he does agree to hide the horse. Meanwhile the Circus act that owns the horse has called the police in.
There’s a nice touch where Callie’s mother makes it plain to The Colonel just how much Callie admires him and the things he believes in. It helps The Colonel make up his mind to step in and help Callie and the horse after all.
classic quote
“He’s called My Hero, after Steve….” – Callie to the Policeman (played the excellent unsung character actor George Waring) when he want’s to know the name of Follyfoot’s new horse.
