Follyfoot: Treasure Hunt (ITV 30 Jul 1972, with Betty Turner)

In Treasure Hunt Dora is asked by the Colonel to go and pick up a horse from Derwent House but insists that it’s imperative that she takes the horse from the left hand stable…

Dora discover that the horse belongs to Agnes Derwent who has become too ill to look after it. Dora also learns that Agnes lives in Derwent House with her sister Emily and that the pair haven’t spoken to each other for twenty years. Amusingly the argument started because Agnes put the tea in first when making a cuppa whereas Emily liked the milk in first. With Agnes catching pneumonia and being sent to hospital Emily finally realises how much her sister means to her.

Dora is still upset that Steve is still seeing Wendy and with Steve seeing how upset she is over the teasing that Dora is getting from Ron he decides to have a heart to heart with her about their feelings.

Ron is very much up to his usual teasing tactics. He does give Dora a hard time over her feelings for Steve but makes up for it with his very groovy T-shirt.

It’s quite sad really Steve knows Dora is in love with him, and he is clearly in love with her but he is unwilling to spoil the relationship that they already have. He knows intrinsically they are both loners and that anything more would change things too much at Follyfoot.

There is a brief scene of Steve with Wendy down by the river but it looks to be a cut in from the previous episode The Prize.
