A parent dials 911 to report that their daughter, aged 12, has been repeatedly raped by a man she met online. The West Midlands Police Department wasted no time in locating and apprehending the criminal.

The lack of physical forensic evidence is likely due to the victim’s initial reluctance to report the crime. Because of this, digital forensics play a crucial role in the investigation, and the police even try to break into the suspects’ phones.
