Garden Rescue: Leeds airs Thursday 8 March 2023 on BBC One

Emilia, Donna and Dan’s youngest daughter, has Down syndrome, and can have difficulty navigating the garden because of its sharp, difficult surfaces. Emilia and her sister Maya would spend all their free time in the garden if it were not so dangerous. The garden needs to be redone with softer surfaces so that the girls don’t get hurt.

Mum Donna is a Norwegian native. She has always wanted a Scandinavian-style garden as a nod to her homeland. The family would also appreciate a patch of grass and a bomb-proof garden full of fragrant and tactile plants that they can easily maintain for their daughters.

The designers will have to use all their expertise and ingenuity to meet the family’s requirements while sticking to a tight budget of just £3,000.
