Tani Richards is passionate about everything mediaeval, including Maid Marion costumes and horseback archery! She and her husband Tim are now planning to construct a “earth castle” on their 60-acre property in Bullsbrook, north of Perth. There are plans for a drawbridge, turret, and even a moat carved into the sides of a man-made dam.

The footprint is substantial—nearly 2000 square meters—and features underground rooms and tunnels as well as gothic features and finishes. However, Tani’s constant modifications and the effects of the pandemic put a strain on the budget and the schedule.
