Grand Designs: House Of The Year Season 7 Premiere Wednesday 16 November on Channel 4
Kevin McCloud embarks on a national tour once more to see the magnificent houses up for the 2022 House of the Year award from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Kevin is joined each week by architects Damion Burrows, Michelle Ogundehin, and Natasha Huq, a newcomer to this series, as they exclusively reveal which homes the RIBA judges have selected for the shortlist and, in the final programme, the announcement of the winner of this prestigious award.
In this episode, they visit five difficult-to-build homes that are competing for a spot on the shortlist. All of these structures are breathtaking and will stop you in your tracks. An extreme DIY eco-home in Stirlingshire that took years to complete, a playful pink beach house built to withstand strong winds and sandstorms on the south coast, a painstakingly meticulous, faithful renovation of a 1960s home in Derbyshire, a dizzyingly challenging-to-build redesign of a redbrick house in Dorset that pushed its builders to the limit, and a London new-build that overcame hurdle after hurdle, from planning to the excavation of the vast basement.
Airdate: Wednesday 16 November 2022 at 9.00pm on Channel 4.
