What is this episode about

Danny, a native of north Lincolnshire and the deputy principal at a local college, wants to construct a modern, eco-friendly, yet reasonably priced four-bedroom home in the woods that surround his current bungalow. Located on the water’s edge, it will feature dramatic pods of bedrooms perched high on steel pillars.

To help his three kids better connect with nature, Danny dreams of moving his family to a new home in the treetops, one that reflects the purity of childhood. Danny’s £300,000 budget doesn’t seem to match the challenges of his project, and he has no experience as a self-builder despite his lofty aspirations.

As a result, Danny is forced to sell his bungalow and move into his mother’s terraced house for the duration, where he has to make do with less space than he’s used to. His effort to build an innocent-feeling home is anything but simple. Can this loving father muster the energy (and resources) to build a home worthy of his family’s hopes and dreams?
