Great British Menu: Wales Starter and Fish (S17EP7 BBC Two Tues 15 Feb 2022)
Wales Starter and Fish: This week sees the heats for Wales. Returning to compete for the top spot are Welsh-speaking Nathan Davies, chef patron at SY23 in Aberystwyth, and Tom Phillips, head chef of the two Michelin-starred Restaurant Story. They are joined by Mark Threadgill, head chef at Portmeirion hotel in north Wales, and Cardiff-born Larkin Cen, who owns four restaurants in Bristol that cook in a traditional Chinese style.
Presenter Andi Oliver welcomes them to the kitchen, where the theme for this year’s competition is a celebration of 100 years of British broadcasting. One of the four must leave the competition at the end of the episode, to be decided by this week’s veteran judge – a previous winner who remains a surprise to the chefs until the moment they walk into the kitchen to taste the first course canapes.
