Michael Portillo’s train adventure keeps rolling forward. While learning the art of making potted prawns with one of the town’s last shrimpers, he gets a breathtaking view of Morecambe Bay. In Arnside, he stops by the eccentric garden of Levens Hall to assist shape the enormous topiaries.

Michael travels via the Arnside Viaduct to arrive in Cartmel, known for its Michelin-starred dining and 12th-century priory.
