Today Tuesday 28 February 2023, there is a new episode of Home Greek Home.
Episode 1 This new series was shot over the course of a year on the beautiful Greek island of Skiathos, and it follows TV host and designer Sarah Moore as she realizes a lifelong goal by purchasing a home there.
Sarah has a profound connection to Skiathos because she has spent so much time there since she first visited at age 17. She has spent countless summers and winters working and vacationing on the island. Sarah bought a rundown home she’d only seen photos of online during the Covid shutdown.
The six-part series follows Sarah as she undertakes the challenge of renovating the property using traditional materials, preserving as much of the original character of the building as possible, and experiences the highs and lows of doing so in a conservation area.
Can Sarah, with the help of her loved ones, restore the house from a dilapidated wreck in the alleyways to a magnificent base from which to explore the historic district?
From the ashes, a new initiative emerges, but its ultimate success rests in the hands of the Greek Gods. In this premiere episode, Sarah and her family make their first visit to the property and learn about the challenges of renovating in a foreign nation with unfamiliar building codes.
