In Conversation with Alan Yentob: Stephen Fry (S1EP1 BBC Four Monday 24 October, 2022)
Stephen Fry: Before a sold-out crowd at the BFI Imax during a TV festival commemorating the BBC’s centennial, Alan Yentob engages Stephen Fry, a writer, presenter, comedian, and actor, in a wide-ranging conversation about the deeply personal struggles he has experienced and the professional successes he has enjoyed in his extraordinary life thus far, ranging from his four decades with the BBC to his time spent in prison as a teenager for credit card theft.
Fry looks back on his high-achieving Jewish family, his love of language, his formative years at Cambridge University, coming to terms with his sexual orientation, the incredible rush of falling in love, and the bravely faced mental health struggles.
Several of his television career high points, including a Hugh Laurie and Rowan Atkinson comedy classic, are shown and discussed.
