Last of the Baskets: Do Unto Others (S1EP6 ITV Mon 21 Jun 1971, Campbell Singer)

Published

on

In Do Unto Others, the final episode of the first season, Clifford Basket is getting tired of his new role of Earl of Clogborough. The Town Clerk is getting very snarky about an unpaid bill and Clifford needs to come up with a nice little fiddle to pay it off.

Campbell Singer, who plays Mr Kershaw, had a long film and TV career beginning in 1946 with the TV play They Flew Through Sand. One of the those “you know the face but can’t place the name” supporting cast players he appeared in everything from Hancock’s Half Hour to Coronation Street and was a regular on 1960’s soap The Newcomers.

Later on in the year Philip Stone, who plays Mr Hodges in this episode, would take on a regular role in Margaret Lockwood’s Yorkshire TV series Justice.
