Kirstie and Phil check in on two sets of homebuyers who have made great strides since we last visited them during their initial house hunt. Liz and Carl, newlyweds in 2014, were on the hunt for their “forever and ever” house. After looking at two properties, Phil realised that their budget wasn’t going to get very far in more expensive parts of Hertfordshire.

Phil’s task seemed hopeless after Liz and Carl cut their budget by £50,000 after they had an epiphany about their future, but then he found a family-ready Victorian end-terrace in Tring for £395,000.

A year later, they had lovingly renovated the place, and now, seven years later, Phil is back to see how things have turned out.

Lynne and her service dog Lucy were house hunting in Bangor in 2016. A conservatory was at the top of Lynne’s wish list because she can sense light. At the second property, Lucy led Lynne directly to the door, eager to escape, and Phil quickly realised how valuable Lucy’s guidance would be.

While Lynne was unable to find her dream home complete with a conservatory, she did find a house. Lynne has had a busy five years; she returned to England after landing her dream job, but a visit to Bangor in 2020 after her mother passed, changed her mind about how long she should stay there. That means they are back in Bangor with Lucy, but this time in a larger home.
