In Audrey Had a Little Lamb young teenager Judy develops a crush on her older next door neighbour Roy. Judy’s mother comes up with an interesting plan to put her off.

This episode aired at the later than usual time of 10.30pm instead of 9.00pm, in that time slot this week was an Elton John/Bernie Taupin documentary special (Elton John and Bernie Taupin… Goodbye, Norman Jean, and Other Things) made by actor turned film director Bryan Forbes.

A young Michael Kitchen takes the lead as Roy, still at the beginning of his career he was starting to make an impression around this time. He had recently appeared in ITV series The Brontes of Haworth as dissolute Branwell Bronte. Lynne Miller, who was 21 at the time, was also just starting out her TV career, this was only her second credit. She notched up quite a few guest roles throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s before joining the cast of The Bill in 1989 for a long running role as W.P.C. Cathy Marshall. She stayed with the show until 1996.

Barbara Young who played Judy’s mother was another well known face, her best known role was that of Dot Wilmington in Hazell, She was also married to well respected TV writer Jack Pulman.
