In Night of the Tanks Czech refugee Kopek is still struggling to come to terms with his new life but finds solace when he meets Alison.
Star Alfred Burke was also appearing in the fabulous series Public Eye, Alison was played by Judy Cornwell who would score a big hit in Moody & Pegg a couple of years later but is best known for her role in Keeping Up Appearances. The cast also included a young Simon Cadell.
There was an interview with co-star Milos Kirek in the week’s TV Times Kirek had himself fled Czechoslavakia in 1968 and made his way to Britain. Although an actor in his homeland he struggled to make an impression here before making his TV debut in Special Branch episode Reported Missing.
