In Sweet Sorrow middle-aged Elizabeth is devastated when her twenty-something son dies, she takes comfort in a growing relationship with his best friend Philip.

This was a s strong grown up story for the era with a script from Upstairs Downstairs stalwart Alfred Shaughnessy.

Star Helen Cherry was married to legendary actor Trevor Howard and there was a feature in the weeks TV Times that saw Helen talking mostly about marriage.
