Love Story: The Folly (S7EP1 ITV 3 Dec 1968, Ann Todd, Petra Markham)

The Folly, written by Ian Curteis, was the opening episode of the seventh season of Love Story.

Ann Todd was one of the leading lights of British cinema during the 1940’s and 1950’s and had made her TV debut in 1938’s Ann and Harold. She more or less retired in the early 1970’s but did still take on the occasional role, most notably in Michael J. Bird’s 1985 thriller Maelstrom.

Petra Markham who played the girl has been a TV regular since the 1960’s, best remembered though for playing the part of Mikki Diamond in cult classic Ace of Wands during it’s 1972 season (the only season of the show that remains). Desmond Llewellyn of course notched up many credits throughout his long career but is best known for his long running role as Q in the James Bond movies and for playing The Colonel in Follyfoot.
