Love Story The Vast Horizons of the Mind ITV 1968 Wanda Ventha Terence Brady

In the wonderfully titled The Vast Horizons of the Mind actor David falls for Birgit a Swedish racing driver who just happens to not speak a word of English.

Writer Riccardo Aragno is best known for his adaptation of the 1960 film version of Shaw’s The Millionairess (starring Peter Sellers and Sophia Loren), this play was his only scripted credit on Love Story but he was script editor for the 1972 season.

Wanda Ventham is the most well known name in the cast, she was already a TV regular by this stage but her best known role remains that of Ann Shepherd in Michael J. Birds The Lotus Eaters. She is the real life mum of Benedict Cumberbatch.

Terence Brady who plays a TV host did a fair bit of acting during the 1960’s before turning to writing and scoring quite a lot of success (often in collaboration with his wife Charlotte Bingham) on shows such as Take Three Girls, No Honestly and Pig in the Middle.
