Love Story: When the End is in Sight (S10EP9 ITV Wed 28 Feb 1973, Michael Craig, Helen Ryan)

In When the End is in Sight, Oscar and Wendy have been married 20 years and decide to revisit the place where they had their honeymoon. Oscar has more in mind for the trip than simple nostalgia though as Wendy soon finds out.

Co-star Helen Ryan, apart from one appearance in 1969 Saturday Night Theatre play Machine, had taken five years out to concentrate on bringing up her family. She was married to successful actor/writer/producer Guy Slater. When the End is in Sight was her return to TV work.

There were quite a few familiar faces in this, Gillian Bailey was a semi regular in Follyfoot, Wendy Allnutt is probably best known for her role as John’s ex-wife in Dear John but was a TV regular throughout the seventies and eighties. A young Jack Galloway, who became something of a heartthrob later in the decade thanks to a starring role in the series Mackenzie, also had a small role.
