Marie Antoinette airs a new episode tonight Thursday 2 February 2023 on BBC Two.
“Deus Ex Machina” Joseph, Antoinette’s brother, steps in to save the royal wedding and the bond between their countries. Even though he’s in a tough position, this Austrian co-ruler manages to integrate bluntness and jollity into his public persona.
Antoinette and Louis haven’t talked in seven years and now live apart. Before the results of Joseph’s efforts are visible, the divorce discussions are finalised, sealing Antoinette’s fate.
