Becca and Rosaline have a hard time processing the devastating news about their mother, so they decide to visit Pete and Cathy in an effort to learn more. Rosaline tries to talk to her dad but is unsuccessful because he ignores her. Later, each sister looks elsewhere for comfort.

Becca and her sister Rosaline have both moved on with their lives, starting families and pursuing careers, and as a result, they have grown apart. However, the sisters receive devastating news when the body of an elderly woman is found on Laxey Beach on the Isle of Man at sunrise.
