In season finale Can’t Fix Crazy Red as been ousted as head cook, replaced by Mendoza. Red though has plans to get her position back; Bennett can’t come to terms with the fact that Daya had sex with Mendez; Larry visits Alex to tell her to stay away from Piper and Alex makes it plain that it was Piper who came onto her first making Larry realise he needs to call it quits on his relationship with Piper.

Piper has her own problems though as Pennsatucky has determined to kill her, egged on by Taystee and co Piper thinks she needs to get in first. Things come to a violent crescendo at the Christmas pageant.

A strong final episode to the season with several plot strands coming to a head, especially the Pennsatucky-Piper battle, there is also quite a bit of time spent on the Pageant which injects a bit of humour into the midst of the desperation.
